Gareth was a professional footballer for 14 years prior to entering financial services. During his career he obtained a first class honours degree, a post graduate qualification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and his Chartered Insurance Institute exams before retiring, whereby he founded ProSport Wealth Management with Phil Rose in 2009. He is affiliated to the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and possesses the STEP Certificate UK – Financial Services – Trusts and Estates. Gareth now focuses on helping sports professionals and HNW individuals secure their financial future. With a firm understanding of the highs and lows of a professional sporting career, Gareth is able to identify with his clients and advise them on how to generate and preserve their wealth.
Gareth was a board member of the Management Committee of the Professional Footballers Association for a number of years as a player and has been serving as a trustee of The PFA Charity since 2014. He has a varied client profile which includes athletes, managers, coaches and sporting directors as well as high-net-worth business owners. He also provides independent investment governance advice and oversight to Charities and trusts, helping trustees to discharge their responsibilities.
Tom is an ex professional footballer with 500+ league games. Knowing first hand the highs and lows of the industry, Tom uses his experience to educate and help players prepare for every eventuality in what is a roller coaster career. He is diploma qualified and focuses on giving honest and trustworthy advice to sports professionals and high net worth individuals to help them secure their financial futures.
Phillip holds an MSc in Financial Services and Business Management. Following a distinction accreditation in behavioural economics, a key focus for Philip is researching investors’ behavioural tendencies.
Phillip won the Chartered Insurance Institute Personal Finance Society (PFS) Financial Planner 2017/18. He was also awarded the Money Management Retirement Planner of the Year and Inheritance Tax Planner runner up in 2017.
After starting his career in the Armed Forces, Phillip moved into financial services. He began his career on an accelerated path to senior management within one of the largest home service insurers in the UK, but the bright lights of independence beckoned. He built a large, provincial independent financial services business that sold to BDO, where he gained promotion to the board of directors. When BDO sold their financial services arm, Phil set up what is now known as Rosebridge and employs more than 40 financial advising specialists covering Manchester, Chester, Skipton, and Leeds.
Since joining the team in 2014 as a Trainee Administrator having graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Business Studies, Andrew has continued to excel in his career achieving his Diploma in Financial Planning in 2016, followed by the Advanced Diploma and Chartered Status in April 2022. Andrew is our first homegrown adviser, highly conscientious and prides himself on providing a personalised and trustworthy service when building client relationships. Andrew interacts with clients regarding the implementation of their short and long-term financial planning objectives. This includes product/solution research and technical analysis on a wide range of financial solutions.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, competing in badminton and tennis and is an avid golfer with a handicap of 6. He has an increasing interest in horticulture and loves walking in the the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.
Andy has 6 years experience in financial services prior to joining ProSport, the last three years working as a Paraplanner.
Andy’s role involves assisting and supporting the planners in the delivery of compliant new business and ongoing services to clients, reviewing client investment portfolios, risk analysis, and report writing. Andy really enjoys the interaction with the clients.
Andy’s ongoing goal is to continue to develop professionally, gain further experience and achieve high levels of technical knowledge, whilst continuing to progress with his professional exams.
Nikki joined ProSport in March 2020, bringing with her more than 16 years’ experience working within the financial services industry across a range of roles. She is delighted to have joined a team that is committed to delivering a personalised service that really adds value to all its clients.
In her spare time, Nikki can be found baking cakes and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoys a good Netflix binge!
Grace joined the ProSport team as its first apprentice in October 2017 and has now completed her Level 3 Financial Administration Apprenticeship with a distinction. Grace also manages the social media platforms for both ProSport and Rosebridge.
In her spare time, Grace likes keeping fit, coaching the local cheerleading team and participating in national competitions.
Sean Joined ProSport in January 2024 as a Client Services administrator, having worked in the financial services industry for the past 15 years. Sean started his career straight from college as a cashier at the Halifax bank.
As well as working in a vibrant office, Sean enjoys interacting with clients every day. As he establishes himself into his new role, he hopes to build on his extensive knowledge and continue with his CII Exams and gain his diploma.
Outside of this office, Sean spends his free time with his daughter Edie and his wife, Emma. As the founder of a local running club, Sean enjoys long distance running, one of his biggest achievements is Running 7 half marathons in 7 days, raising £2k for the male mental health charity CALM.
Sean’s driving force is happiness, kindness & balance, and always treats everybody the way he expects to be treated.
Alicia joined ProSport in January 2024 as a Client Services Administrator. Alicia has started her career in the financial services industry, keen to develop her skills within an ever-growing industry.
With plenty of opportunities ahead, Alicia is excited to start her CII Exams and work towards her diploma, with aspirations of gaining additional qualifications and knowledge along the way.
Alicia thrives in a team environment, and always strives to produce the best outcomes for the client. Alicia’s driving force is her ambition, motivation, and kindness.
In her free time, Alicia enjoys reading, exercising and painting, spending her evenings and weekends in the gym or with family and friends.
Natalie’s role as a Mortgage Adviser sees her thrive on the thrill of her clients buying their dream property.
Natalie has more than 20 years’ experience within the financial services environment specialising in mortgage advice. As an independent adviser, Natalie is able to use her skills to help clients navigate their way through the variety of mortgages available. Natalie is a keen and effective communicator who is focused upon identifying the needs and objectives of her clients and then using her financial acumen to find the right solution.
Chris has two years’ experience in the profession and is currently working towards his diploma.
Chris’ role involves providing support to the advisers adding value to our clients. Day to day, he can be processing new business, monitoring and assessing suitability of client portfolios, risk, cashflow and benchmark analysis.
